• US President Trump says Tehran and US agreed to continue talks, but he communicated to Iran that the ceasefire is “over”.
• After two days of deadly strikes between the US and Iran, Qatari negotiators are in Tehran in an attempt to get diplomacy back on track.
• Shipping in the Strait of Hormuz has plunged during the renewed fighting, dealing a new blow to energy markets already reeling from the biggest supply disruption in history.
• The pace of Israeli attacks on Lebanon increased overnight Thursday into Friday, with numerous drone and warplane strikes taking place

• Israel claims killing two Hamas commanders in Gaza

  The Israeli military is claiming it killed two Hamas commanders this week in strikes on Gaza.

  They were identified as Khalil Jamal Khalil Manna, a commander in the Weapons Production Headquarters of Hamas’s military wing, and Osama Walid Deeb Muhareb, a commander in Hamas’ Nuseirat Battalion.

  The continued killings come despite Israel and Hamas agreeing to a ceasefire on October 10, 2025. The Palestinian group has yet to issue a confirmation.

  UK, France and Germany “cheer-led” US-Israel attacks on Iran: Russia’s deputy UN envoy

  UK, France and Germany “cheer-led” US and Israeli strikes on Iran’s civilian infrastructure, said Russia’s deputy UN envoy at an emergency session of the UNSC.

  Anna Evstigneeva, Russia’s deputy permanent representative to the UN, condemned the “hypocrisy of Western states” in targeting Iran while turning a blind eye to the actions of the US and Israel.

  “We are compelled to express our disappointment that once again a majority of UNSC members are continuing to indulge the attempts of some states to cast doubt on objective, procedural realities”, she said.
