Voting Matters
A Letter to My Son
By Majid Naficy
My Son, If we had political freedom and electoral integrity in Iran, probably the 1979 Revolution would not have happened. That’s why I cherish the relatively free and fair elections in the U.S. and do not take my right to vote for granted. It matters that Larry Elder, the black face of white supremacy does not replace Gavin Newsom, because of the former beliefs in banning the rights of women for abortion, terminating mandatory vaccinations and masking, limiting political asylum and economic immigration to California, ignoring global warming, removing gun control, suppressing voting rights, bringing back Trump and so on. The risk is huge because even if Newsom receives 49.99% of the votes and Elder receives only15% the latter will be the winner. The deadline for casting your no/yes-recall ballots is Tuesday, September 14. Please take advantage of your right and encourage your friends to do the same. Love you, majid
