Ambassador
(For Father’s Day)

Wherever I go I am your ambassador
And speak of you with every one:
With a driver who carries me to a doctor
And listens to a song on the way;
With a receptionist behind the counter
Who reveals he makes songs himself;
With the physician who is a kind woman
And prescribes music therapy.
They all know your name
And say that I am a lucky father.
Yet, I don’t know if, when they return home
They listen to your songs.

هر جا که میروم سفیر تو هستم
و از تو با هر کس سخن میگویم
با رانندهای که مرا به دکتر میبرد
و در راه به ترانهای گوش میدهد
با منشی که پشت پیشخوان نشسته
و فاش میکند که خود ترانه میسازد
با پزشک که زنیست مهربان
و آهنگ درمانی تجویز میکند.
آنها همه نام ترا میدانند
و میگویند که من پدری خوشبختم
با اینهمه نمیدانم وقتی به خانه بازگردند
آیا به ترانههایت گوش میدهند؟
