I am Xerxes the Great, the conqueror of Athens
Who struck whiplashes on your back
And passed over your body
Across a ferryboat bridge.”

On the stairs of Santa Monica
We pass one another
Until finally at the last landing
I get ahead of you
Chanting “Iran! Iran! Iran!”
