- Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps says that 35 ships transited the Strait of Hormuz with Iran’s permission in the last 24 hours.
Pakistani army chief arrives in Tehran: ISNA
Pakistan’s field marshal Asim Munir has arrived in Tehran, Iran’s ISNA news agency reports.
As we’ve been reporting, Munir is expected to take part in high-level talks in the Iranian capital.
EU suspends fertiliser tariffs as Strait of Hormuz crisis drives shortages
The European Union has suspended tariffs on nitrogen fertiliser imports for one year as disruption in the Strait of Hormuz pushes up prices and strains global supply chains.
The measure covers nitrogen fertilisers and key raw materials, such as urea and ammonia, in a bid to ease pressure on European farmers and producers.
The suspension will not apply to Russia and Belarus, which remain under EU sanctions over the war in Ukraine.
The European Commission said the move could save the EU agricultural sector about €60m ($70m) and help secure access to essential farm inputs.
