Iran war live: Trump vows to hit power plants, bridges over Hormuz closure

- US President Donald Trump has renewed his threat to unleash “hell” on Iran if it continues to keep Strait of Hormuz closed, saying Washington will destroy Iranian power plants and bridges.

Trump trying to use ‘leverage’ to strike deal with Iran: Ex-US official
Mark Pfeifle, a former US deputy national security adviser, has described Trump as a negotiator who aims to use “leverage” wherever possible.
However, Pfeifle told Al Jazeera that the continued war means Trump has limited options to apply pressure on the ground.
He also warned that Iran retains significant capabilities, including the ability to disrupt shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and deploy large numbers of drones. “The Strait of Hormuz is the card they hold,” Pfeifle said.
Damaged building in Haifa suffered direct missile hit: Israeli military
The military has told the AFP news agency that the residential building that suffered heavy damage in northern Haifa was hit by the “direct impact of a missile” fired by Iran.
As we reported earlier, an official with Israel’s Fire and Rescue Service also previously confirmed a direct hit on the building.
Iran’s parliament speaker says Trump’s ‘reckless moves’ will cause ‘whole region to burn’
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is the latest Iranian official to react to Trump’s renewed threats.
In an English-language post on X apparently addressed to Trump, the speaker of Iran’s parliament said: “Your reckless moves are dragging the United States into a living HELL for every single family, and our whole region is going to burn because you insist on following Netanyahu’s commands.”
Ghalibaf added: “Make no mistake: You won’t gain anything through war crimes.
“The only real solution is respecting the rights of the Iranian people and ending this dangerous game.”
